Design Process

From concept, through development and into project completion, we

are committed to a design approach which demands the full creative

involvement of the architect and the client. The process is one of

listening, asking, analyzing and engaging each client as a participant

in design. The collaboration explores possible physical solutions

suggested from a thorough understanding of the project’s needs and

unique parameters of the site. The shared goal is to reveal the

project’s singular nature and to discover through design an identity

that is unique and memorable.

The firm believes that the client is best served by a design process that depends on the personal commitment of the Principals, Associate Principals, and Associates, to a continuing and responsive dialogue with the client and their representatives throughout the course of a project.

Design Philosophy

We try to design for the people who use the buildings; therefore we look for an Architecture that makes people happy and not Architecture for architects to admire. We believe that a good building is one that not only responds to the need of its users, to the built environment, to a schedule and budget, but also responds to the artistic and spiritual needs of the people.

The Architectural, Engineering, and material solutions should respond to a building which makes its users, the built environment and the client proud of, without being pretentious or expensive. In other words it has to be the best in quality of design and planning.

We seek to create an Architecture that will serve society and contribute to better build cities. While achieving functionality, efficiency and cost we try to find the ways to design environments that are human and friendly and have an atmosphere of intimacy peace and optimism.

We try not to ignore nor offend the environmental settings, rather try to complement and improve it. Architecture should not be used to build monuments for ourselves nor should  it be hostile to its environment ; it ought to provide us with something more meaningful.

Who We Are

Sircar & Associates is an architectural and service design firm with a portfolio of mainly residential, commercial, and institutional work. After working with few well known architects for a few years after graduation (B.Arch) from Bengal Engineering College , Shibpur , the founder of the firm Ritam Sircar began his practice in the year 2003 by starting the firm.
